I am pleased to be able to confirm that school will re-open as usual for students in all years on Monday September 7th - with an 8.45am start. The latest DCSF guidance on Swine Flu is copied for your information below, but should the situation change we will obviously let you know. A great deal of work has been completed on the refurbishment although there remains much building work to be undertaken. I would remind all students that the only access from the front of the building is via the main front door, although there is also access via Sandy Lane. Please be mindful of the H & S signs and respect the school site at all times. Temporary bike sheds are available behind the Technology Block. Parents please help us during this period by dropping off and picking up your children either on Okus Road or Westlecot Road - not along the Mall! Thanks for your anticipated support. I will write again soon to update you on a number of key developments.Best wishes Keith Defter Department for children, Schools and FamiliesMessage from the Secretary of State, Ed Balls
We have been closely monitoring the spread and severity of swine flu over the school holidays. The latest scientific advice to the Government is that individual school closures are now of limited benefit in stopping the spread of disease.
Given the mildness of the virus, the expert medical advice is that there is no good reason for schools to remain closed after the summer holiday. We therefore expect all schools and early-years and childcare settings in England to reopen as planned at the beginning of the new term. However, it is still essential that adults or children with flu-like symptoms should stay away until they are free of those symptoms. They should contact the National Pandemic Flu Service on 0800 1513513 or at www.pandemicflu.direct.gov.uk
